Immediate postoperative recovery takes place in the patient room under the supervision of medical staff. You will spend the first postoperative hour in bed and then the examination of the operative wound and your general condition will be performed. You can sleep or rest on either side or however you feel comfortable.

Activities

An hour after the surgery, you can get out of bed and slowly walk with the help of a nurse and go to the toilet. Slow walking and short sitting are allowed if you do not feel any pain. Early mobilisation significantly accelerates the postoperative course.

Diet

You can consume food and fluids immediately after the surgery. For the first day, we recommend smaller amounts of easily digestible food (soups, cooked vegetables, fish, white meat...) and plenty of liquid (water, fruit juices, herbal teas).

Pain

The moderate pain and discomfort expected after the surgery are relieved with analgesics in tablets or injections. The competent nurse will monitor your condition during your stay at our facility.

For more information please see our Patient Information Booklet and/or ask your surgeon.
